Radford City Fine Arts Show announces selected artists

Sally Mook is a Radford artist. Her acrylic painting, “At the Festival” is one of the pieces in the show.

The Radford City Fine Arts Show opens with a reception at 5 p.m., June 29, at the Radford University Art Museum Downtown. This juried exhibition of art from Southwest Virginia is a partnership between the university and the City of Radford.


Sue Steele Thomas, a professor of art at Virginia Western Community College, was the juror. She selected artwork by the following artists:

Lisa Acciai, Deborah Lynn Adler, Langley Anderson, Robin Scully Boucher, Zack Brodie, Franchell Mack Brown, Addison Bryant, Paula Caldwell, Jennifer Phillips Carpenter, Lee Coburn, Ben Crenshaw, Aileen Fletcher, Lucy Gilmore, Sue Hossack, Ruth Lefko, Susan Lockwood, Nicholas Milinazzo, Sally Mook, Audrey Person, Leslie Roberts-Gregg, Karen Phillips Sewell, Joyce T. Sims, Joanna Sunshine, Nicholas Umstead, Linda Waggaman, Michele Ross Walter, John Wiercioch and William Zemba.

The reception will include the announcement of awards including the Best in Show.

The exhibition sponsors Barnes & Noble, the City of Radford, Green Heron Arts, The Radford Theatre, Radford University Art Museum and Whitebarrel Winery make these prizes possible.

Both the reception and the exhibition are free to the public. The exhibition runs from June 29 through July 21. Located at 1129 E. Main St. in Radford, the gallery is open noon to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday. For more call 540-831-5754.
