RADFORD – The Radford Chamber of Commerce is inviting all Chamber members and community members to help recognize National “Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day” on October 16 and throughout the week.

“The Chamber will celebrate the whole week of October 14 -18, to acknowledge the continuing support that the Chamber receives from Radford, and surrounding business communities,”said Chamber Executive Director Ciara Harris. “The Radford Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to ‘support business vitality in the heart of the NRV’.”

Harris said the Chamber has special things planned for the week.

“During the week, the Chamber will be doing things to connect the community, and its businesses such as member shout outs, prizes, social media campaigns, and an open house,” she said.

The open house will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 16 from 12-3 p.m. at the Chamber office, located at 200 Third Avenue in Radford.

“We invite all current and interested chamber members to stop by for refreshments, giveaways and additional membership and event information,”said Harris. “Stop by to learn how to get involved!”

During the open house there also will be a virtual on-site ribbon cutting at noon, for new member

Heather Govenor, a local Certified Independent OPTAVIA Health and Wellness Coach.

“The Chamber encourages current members, along with general community support for this event,” said Harris.

“We would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the support that the businesses continue to show our Chamber,” she added. “Personally, I’d also like to recognize the 2019 Board of Directors for taking additional time to support our organization internally.”

Harris said the Chamber currently has approximately 250 members, with 23 new members for the year of 2019.
