Pulaski quarterback to suit up for CHS Blue Demons this fall

Pulaski County quarterback Camp Cooper will wear the blue and gold this fall as a Christiansburg High School Blue Demon.

This past week Cooper participated in 7-on-7 summer drills with CHS.

After showing promise early on last season for Pulaski, Cooper suffered a broken collar bone and was unable to finish the season.

Cooper’s addition could allow rising CHS junior Tanner Evans to remain in the defensive lineup where he was almost as important last season as he was on the offensive side of the ball. Cooper was recently named the top signal caller at two at-large football camps.

The Virginia High School League has released its “master fall schedule” for the upcoming fall with few surprises.

Blacksburg will face Giles and Lord Botetourt to open the season before an open week to prepare for River Ridge District play.

Christiansburg will open with Floyd, Abingdon ,and William Byrd before a breather going into River Ridge action.

Radford will tangle with George Wythe, Gate City, Ft. Chiswell, and Christiansburg.

Auburn faces Narrows, Craig, Floyd, and Eastern Montgomery in its out-of-district schedule.

Eastern Montgomery will see familiar foes in Holston, Rural Retreat, North Cross, and Auburn.
