RADFORD – The City of Radford provisional ballots have been counted and were submitted to the Virginia State Board of Elections Thursday afternoon.

The results did not change who has been elected to local office, but those ballots did tighten the race for the Radford City School Board.

The results of the provisional ballots for Radford City Council are:

  1. Guy Wohlford – 211 votes, or 37.21%; Kellie Banks Artrip – 181 votes or 31.92 %; Carl E. Mitchell – 149 votes or 26.28%; and write-ins – 26 votes or 4.59%.

The results of the provisional ballots for Radford City School Board are:

Brian K. Dobbins – 162 votes or 26.26%; Ben L. Buzzard – 133 votes or 21.56 %; Kelsey R. Marletta – 116 votes or 18.80%; Amanda J. Winter – 110 votes or 17.83 %; Rebecca Q. Dunn – 83 votes or 13.45 %; and write-in – 13 votes or 2.11%.

The results remain the same, with Kellie Artrip and Guy Wohlford being elected to the Radford City Council and Brian Dobbins and Amanda Winter being elected to the Radford City School Board. The provisional ballots did reduce Winters margin to three votes over Ben Buzzard.

The City of Radford has 9,963 registered voters and 6,608 voted in the election, representing a 66% turn-out.
