Calvin Christopher Poe, 69, of Radford, passed away Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020. He was retired from Carilion St. Albans Psychiatric Hospital where he was a psychiatric tech. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Carl and Joyce Long Poe, and brothers John and Vernon Poe.
Survivors include his son, Calvin Poe, II,. of Arlington; daughter Morgan Poe of Radford; sisters Glenna Poe and Mary Cox, both of Radford, and Kathy Nunn of Greenville, N. C.; brother Allan Poe of Roanoke; pets Tucker, Bella and Hershey; and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family received friends on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Memorial services followed with Pastor Ginny Tompkins and Pastor William Ratcliffe officiating.
Graveside services with full military honors were held on Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The Poe family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
