Stephen Neil Phillips, age 58, of Christiansburg died, Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Lewis Gale Medical Center.
He was born in Roanoke, Virginia on Oct. 30, 1958 to the late William Morris and Freeda Ratliff Phillips. He was also preceded in death by his aunt, Mamie Vest.
He worked for Montgomery County for 38 years. He was president of the Virginia High School Rodeo Association for several years, and was a member of the Dry Valley Hunt Club and the Dublin Clay Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Treece Phillips; sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley and Lori Phillips, Adam and Jennifer Phillips, Casey and Jenna Phillips; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Barbara Phillips, Terry and Wanda Phillips, Jeff and Jill Phillips; grandchildren, Jonathan and Emily Phillips; mother and father-in-law, Don and Twinkle Treece; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chuck and Molly Treece; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A memorial service was conducted Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Neil Turner (his coffee buddy) officiating.
