Patsy Price Shepherd

Patsy Price Shepherd, 81, of Blacksburg, VA went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital, Blacksburg, VA.

Patsy was born April 6, 1937 in Montgomery County, Virginia the daughter of the late Lee Allen Price and Pearl (Alls) Price, both natives of Montgomery County, VA. She was a life long resident of Montgomery County, VA.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald; daughter, Karla Shepherd Fisher; grandsons, Jonathan Carroll and Harrison Shepherd; granddaughter, Leanna Fisher; great-grandsons, Jonathan (JJ) Carroll, Jr. and Kayson Richardson, all of Blacksburg, VA, daughter-in-law, Melanie Shepherd. She is also survived by her sister, Claudine Saville; brother, Jerry (Donna) Price both of Blacksburg, Va; brother-in-law, Clarence (Duckie) Albert of Christiansburg, VA; aunt, Louise (Price) Long of Blacksburg, VA. Patsy will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William (Billy) Shepherd; 3 sisters, Betty Price, Della Gertrude (Gertie) Snider and Loretta Albert; and brothers- in-law, Harry (Bryd) Saville and Charles Snider.

She was a long-time member of the Sunnyside Pentecostal Holiness Church at Sunnyside, VA. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed homemaking, sewing, cooking, working with her house plants, doing puzzles and reading her Bible.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Layne Broad and Rev. Jimmy Lee Price officiating. Interment will follow in the New Mount Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Sunnyside, Virginia. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12 p.m. until service time at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
