September 16 is fast approaching and, after months of planning, recruitment and organizing, our Health Fair is just about ready to go.
Co-sponsored by the NRV AARP, the Town of Christiansburg and the Christiansburg Recreation Center, the fair will be held at the Christiansburg Recreation Center Wednesday, Sept. 16, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with more than 80 exhibitors so far. Organizers want to thank all of our sponsors, especially the National Bank of Blacksburg and Plott and French, Financial Advisors, the Platinum sponsors. Funds raised from the fair proceeds are donated to local agencies that support seniors and a range of NRV community organizations.
The Health Fair includes:
Health, hearing, and vision screenings
Vaccinations
Demonstrations of stair lifts and wheelchairs
Valuable information and resources related to nutrition/healthy eating tips, SNAP education; medical, financial, legal, mental health, physical therapy, insurance information; healthy homes, fall prevention, energy efficiency; scam/fraud avoidance and veterans’ benefits.
Master Gardener information and cuttings for all, and
Over 50 door prizes and giveaways.
