Nancy Jo Silvers Curtis, 85, of Christiansburg, passed on peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2022, with her loving family by her side.

Nancy was born Dec. 31, 1936, in Montgomery County to her parents, the late Joseph Andrew Silvers and Ada Light Silvers. She was a graduate of Christiansburg High School and she and her husband, Terry Thomas Curtis, returned to the area when he left the Service. She was active with her children growing up, later enjoying selling Mary Kay, loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren, splashing at water aerobics, playing Canasta and organizing high school class reunion activities.

She is survived by her four children, Barbara Harman and her husband, Brad, of South Carolina; Dianna Sheesley and her husband George, of Florida; Anthony Curtis and his wife Tracy, of Virginia; Terri Jo Mangia and her husband Steve, of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Bryce Harman, Bailey Harman Danner and her husband Chris, Jana Curtis Perkins and her husband Troy, Megan Sheesley Shealy and her husband Noah, Derek Sheesley; four great grandchildren, Carter and Hayden Danner, Audrey and Theodore “Teddy” Shealy; and her personal companion, Miss Sophia, the Cat.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, James Alan Silvers, her sister-in-law, Ann Umberger Silvers, and her grandson, Milton McCormick Sheesley.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 1 p.m. in the Chapel. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.
