Murdock, Faye Taylor

Faye Taylor Murdock, 93, of Blacksburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Greensboro, N.C., and was raised in Danville, Va., by her parents, the late Walter Claude and Josie Howard Taylor.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Crockett Murdock, two sisters, and brothers-in-law Jacqueline and Edward Ferguson and Iris Kate and Clifton Hawker; and a brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Frances Taylor.

Faye was the oldest tenured member of Blacksburg Christian Church. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Louise Allen; a niece, Donna Ferguson; and several other nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. in the Blacksburg Christian Church with the Rev. Gary McCoy and the Rev. J.B. Beane officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Disciple Women’s Ministry, Blacksburg Christian Church, 240 Watson Ave., Blacksburg, VA 24060.

The family will receive friends on Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. until service at the church. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
