The Mount Tabor Ruritan Club will hold its September Fish Fry on from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at Slusser’s Chapel Picnic Shelter (1543 Mount Tabor Road, Blacksburg).
The event features all-you-can-eat fish, fries and slaw, homemade desserts and beverages.
Dinner for adults is $8, children under 12, $4 and kids under three eat free. Carryout plates are $8 each.
The local New River Valley folk group Simple Gifts of the Blue Ridge will be playing and the fry is held rain or shine under the picnic shelter below the lower church parking lot.

The club will start their sausage-gravy and biscuit breakfasts in October, after it makes its apple butter.
