RADFORD – The Legacy Motown Revue kicks off the City of Radford’s 2022 summer concert series this evening, May 21, on the lawn of Glencoe Mansion, Museum, and Gallery.

The North Carolina-based band, founded in 2010, pays “tribute to legendary icons of Motown,” according to the band’s website. “Four talented performers dance and sing, and an amazing six-piece horn band transports the audience back in time to one of the most influential periods of American musical history: the days of the Drifters, the Coasters, the Jacksons, Earth Wind & Fire, the Temptations, and so many more.”

The city’s summer concert series will be held once a month and will run through Saturday, Sept. 24, for a total of five concerts.

The remaining dates are:

Saturday, June 18 – Ryan Perry (Country)

Saturday, July 24 – Cassette Rewind (80’s Band)

Saturday, Aug. 20 – Stars Go Dim (Christian Contemporary /Pop)

Saturday, Sept. 24 – The Catalinas (Beach Music)

Gates open at 6 p.m., and all concerts begin at 7 p.m. Food trucks will be onsite, and the Radford Chamber of Commerce will partner to provide beer for purchase (except for the August concert).

Glencoe Mansion, Museum and Gallery is located at 600 Unruh Dr., just off West Main Street.
