Robert “Bob” Allen Miles, age 78, of Christiansburg, passed peacefully, Sunday morning, Oct. 1, 2017. He was born on May 16, 1939.
He started Bob Miles Construction Company many, many years ago and retired from the company in 2011. He was a man of many talents. Farming vegetables, raising cattle, race-car driver, mechanic, bee keeper, and many many more endeavors. He was born and raised in Sugar Grove and made his home with Nancy there. He loved his entire family more than we could ever know. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by Hugh “Pa” and Roxie “Ma” Kingrea; his mother, Ruth Wilkerson; son-in-laws, Jeff Linkous and James Graves. Left to cherish his memory, his wife of 60 years, Nancy T. Miles; three sons, Henry (Doris) Miles; Charles (Robin) Miles; John (Elsa) Crouser; three daughters, Barbara Miles, Lois (Ricky) Thomas, Penny Linkous (Dean Sutphin), eighteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; a sister, Jill (Stanley) Hill; brother, Robin (Faye) Miles; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Loved by many and missed by all.
Visitation was held Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017 from 11 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Lee Sarver officiating in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel.
