George Milton Marunich, Jr., 56, of Fairlawn, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2026. He was a dedicated member of the Radford VFW Post #776 and Community Life Church in Radford. Born Dec. 11, 1969, George was a proud Army veteran of 13 years, spending time boxing and being stationed in Germany. He loves his Philadelphia Eagles and Radford Bobcats. George was preceded in death by his parents, George Milton, Sr. and Violet Catherine Quinn Marunich; his beloved grandson, Nolan; uncle, Eric Marunich; and beloved canine companion, Lulu.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jennifer Smithson Marunich; children, Lakita Marunich, Kimberly Marunich, Jeffery Marunich (Katherine), Cordell McGuff, Charlie McGuff, Asia Marunich and Colton Andrews; grandchildren, Luis, Oliver, Clara, Kayden, Emilio, Molly and Avery; children of his heart, Kadince Cales, Maurice, Milena and Emily Marunich; aunts, Shelby, Jean and Emma; special dogs, Rocky and Adrianna; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2025, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 4 p.m. with Pastor Rod Hidalgo officiating. Inurnment with full military honors will take place at 12p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
