Marjorie Calhoun Akers, 82, passed away Oct. 29, 2021, at her home in Christiansburg.
She was born in Blacksburg, the daughter of John Leslie Calhoun and Gracie Leigh Slusser Calhoun.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Gracie; brothers Bob and Alvin; and sisters Elizabeth
and Josephine.
Survivors include her husband, Dick Akers, of Christiansburg; sons Rick and Les Akers of
Christiansburg; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, four nephews, four nieces, and many other
relatives and friends
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Dec. 4 at First Church of God, Dublin 6330
Courtney Lane, Dublin. A celebration of her life will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mike Hudson
officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Victory Junction Gang.
