MONTGOMERY Co. – A Riner man has died as the result of a single vehicle crash on I-81 on Saturday, April 5.
According to the Virginia State Police, the crash occurred April 5 at 3:38 p.m. on Interstate 81, at the northbound 110-mile marker in Montgomery County when a 2020 BMW 540I was traveling north on Interstate 81 at the 110-mile marker ran off the left side of the roadway and struck the guardrail.
The driver was identified as William Howell Curtis, II, of Riner. Howell was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to NRV Medical Center, where he later died. The crash remains under investigation.
