Dear editor,

For the last five months citizens in the New River Valley (NRV) have been protesting every Thursday and some Saturdays at the ‘People’s Corner,’ across the street from Pizza Inn, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The people are protesting the number of changes the Trump administration is making that voters do not support. One of the biggest problems is the lack of free speech allowed by the public and the opportunity for people to express their opinions.

Individuals are particularly concerned if their opinion does not agree with what Trump and his administration are enforcing what Trump’s reaction will be. During the month of May two members of the CBS News staff resigned, or were forced to resign, because Trump did not support what they were telling the country. On June 14, (250 birthday of the nation and Trump’s birthday) Trump will conduct a large military parade on the streets of Washington D.C. One of the involved groups will be 25 Sherman Tanks. The parade will cost millions of dollars. To counter the military parade, Christiansburg, and approximately 700 other communities across the country, are going to have their own rally to counter Trump’s military parade. Hopefully by next week I will have additional information about Christiansburg’s June 14 rally.
