Belinda C. Hypes, 69, of Rich Creek, went to be with the Lord Feb. 17, 2024, at the Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, N.C. She was born at Panama City, Panama Jan. 22, 1955. Belinda was a graduate of Christiansburg High School and New River Community College. She was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Mary Frances Cruise. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rodonna Sutphin; brother-in-law, Allen Sutphin; brother, David L. Cruise; and sister-in-law Debbie Cruise.
She is survived by her companion/forever friend James (Jug) Donathan; daughter, Oceanna Cruise Matney; son-in-law, Geoff Matney; sister, Pamela C. Young; brother-in-law, Thomas E. Young; nieces Mary Dennis, Whitney Young: nephews, John Young, Shawn Cruise; great nephews Aubrey Ford, Joey Culverhouse, Westyn Ware; great niece, Casandra Cruise; great-great nephew, Zaylen McGraw; and three special fur babies, Smokey, Bandit, and Rambo.
Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 25 at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg. The funeral immediately followed.
