RADFORD – The 25th annual Radford Highlanders Festival was held Saturday on the campus of Radford University, with crisp air and sunny skies serving as the perfect backdrop for the perennial crowd favorite.
The festival’s popularity was evident by the big crowd that came out to enjoy the day, from live music to sheepherding, vendors, children’s activities and the Heavy Scottish games, which draw competitors from throughout Virginia and several states beyond in feats of strength like the caber toss and hammer throw.
The festival is held each October and is a partnership between the City of Radford and Radford University.
