Guill, Doris Vaughn

Doris Vaughn Guill, 90, of Radford, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017.


She was retired after many years of being the bookkeeper at Radford High School.  She also worked for Vo Tech (now New River Community College), was executive secretary for Radford Chamber of Commerce, and bookkeeper for the Radford Industrial Development Authority. She was a member of Snowville Christian Church for 56 years where she was a deaconess and secretary/treasurer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Moden and Ola Creger Vaughn.

Survivors include her husband of 74 years, William Lee Guill; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Tom Brewer of Roanoke, and Billie and Dean Smith of Staunton; sister-in-law, Dorothy Vaughn of Pensacola, Fla.; grandchildren, Torryea and Pule Calderon, and Lance and Wendy Brewer; great grandchildren, Madeleine and Reece Calderon, and Ridgely and Ainsleigh Brewer; and honorary granddaughter and great granddaughter, Young and Victoria Cho.

Funeral services were held on Sunday at the Snowville Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Jonathan Webster officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Burial Park in Radford.

The family received friends on Saturday at the Mullins Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Snowville Christian Church, 5436 Lead Mine Road, Hiwassee, VA 24347.
