The winning team sponsored by Joe Cromer, State Farm Insurance Agency included Rob Quarles, Adam Crawford and Brandon Bailey. They shot a score of 51. The second place team this year was the Foran family team, consisting of Mickey, Mike and Ivy Foran plus Ken Tucker. They shot a 52 and registered the first hole in one by a player in the tournament’s five-year history.

Ivy Foran had a hole-in-one on par three hole number 11.

This year’s winners were awarded an Adirondack chair per player, donated by Mark Bennett and the Va. Eagle Distributors. The second place team was awarded duffel bags provided by LPDF.

In April, five students from the New River Valley and the Roanoke Valley the foundation awarded $4,000 in scholarships. They received these scholarships on the football field at Virginia Tech just prior to the kick off the spring football game and were presented by Coach Foster and then personalized by him at the annual awards dinner the following night.

The dinner for the students and their parents was hosted by LPD sponsor Hyatt Place Hotel, in Blacksburg.

This brings the total of scholarships awarded by the LPDF to $107,500.

Additionally, during the last quarter of last year, LPDF established a $100,000 endowed scholarship at VT, in the name of Coach Bud Foster and the Lunch Pail Defense Foundation. This scholarship will go a defensive football player who is the first of his family to attend college.

The foundation will have completed 80 percent or more of its pledge by the end of this year. It also supports the Organ Transplant Family Support Program at Duke Medical Center in Durham North Carolina.

The annual golf tournament is a major fund raiser for the foundation, which wishes to thank all of the sponsors, players owners and staff at Auburn Hills for all of their efforts in making this the special, fun -filled and successful event that it has become.
