Ernestine Smith Gillispie, 87, of Christiansburg died, Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at Richfield Recovery and Care Center. She was born in Catawba, VA on June 10, 1930 to the late Ira Nelson and Oretha Alls Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Clarance Gillispie; sisters, Lora, Hallie, Betty Jo; brother Dennis.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Earley; sisters, Jan, Billie, Freda; brothers and sister-in-law, Jack (Catherine), Nelson, Doug; two grandsons, Loren, Walter (Joanie); great-grandchildren, Kyle, Walter II (Jennifer), Brandon, Gracie, Abigail, Riley, Emma, Gabrail, Kendra; great-great grandson, Carter.
Funeral services will be conducted today, Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family received friends Tuesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. S.W. Blacksburg, VA.
