Jerry Wilbert Gearheart, 67, died Sept. 9, 2026. He was the son of the late Wilbert Junior and Sarah Hall Gearheart.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lisa Ann Gearheart; and grandparents Charlie and Gladys Hall, Trigg Mosby and Lucille Spradlin Gearheart. Surviving are many cousins and a special friend, Erik Massie.
Jerry attended many universities, including the University of Virginia, University of South Carolina, Radford University and Virginia Tech. He believed that education was a lifelong pursuit.
Jerry was the owner and principal broker of his real estate business, Home Discovery Realtors. Jerry served many functions as a member of the Oak Grove Church including singing in the choir and as a Sunday school teacher. The family will be having private services. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
