Jessica Wollman has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America’s All-District first team. She is a graduate of Blacksburg High School.
Jessica Wollmann, a junior forward on the Radford University women’s soccer team, has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District first team as announced by the organization Thursday afternoon.
The Academic All-District teams include student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.
Wollmann has put together a stellar year both on the field and in the classroom, earning First Team All-Big South, Big South All-Academic Team and Big South Attacking Player of the Week honors (twice) all while maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average as an Anthropological Studies major. She also minors in Biology.
The Blacksburg product tallied career highs with seven goals, eight assists and 22 points across 1,421 minutes. She ranked second in the Big South in shots and assists, third in points, points per game and goals and even led the conference in game-winning goals with four.
“Jessi has had an amazing year,” said head coach Ben Sohrabi. “I’m very proud of the effort she puts into her academics and soccer. She is truly making the most of her college career in every way. I think it’s a great honor for her and the team that she is being recognized in such a positive way.”
She is only the second member of the Radford women’s soccer program to earn the First Team distinction and the first since Rachel Conway did it in 2013. Jevne Reid (2nd Team, 2002), Kelly Bertwell (2nd Team, 2002) and Jill Boyer (3rd Team, 2008) have also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District® honors.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in December.
