Eugene H. (Pete) Flinchum, 81, of Pilot, died Friday, July 21, 2023, at his home. 

He was born on November 14, 1941, to the late Jessie Ross and Charity Kirkner Flinchum. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Gearheart Flinchum; sister, Velma Rice; brothers, Paul, Marvin, Herbert, Jessie, Jr., Henry, and Bud; brothers-in-law, Larry Rice, and Sidney Hodge; sisters-in-law, Hilda, Margaret, and Donna Flinchum. 

Pete was a longtime minister in the area. 

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eugene H. Jr. and Susan Flinchum; grandson, Jeremiah Flinchum; sister, Shirley Hodge; sister-in-law, Betty Flinchum; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Linkous and Rev. John Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from noon – 2 p.m. prior to the service.
