Peggy Brumfield Epperly, of Christiansburg, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024. She was born in Montgomery County Feb. 11, 1941, a daughter of Osbin Fases Brumfield and Annie Frances Johnson Brumfield. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 61 years, Garnett William Epperly, Sr.

Peggy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Garnett Epperly Jr. “Bill” and Sandra; her daughter Victoria Creed; three grandchildren, Sidney Marie Epperly, Candice Nicole Creed, and William Tanner Epperly; and one great-grandchild, Mack Douglas Hubbard.

Peggy worked many devoted years as a secretary for The Department of the Army at Virginia Tech, from which she retired. Taking a brief retirement she then started working for LewisGale Hospital Montgomery as a Medical Records Clerk and again retired after 10 years of service.

Peggy enjoyed many pastimes. She was a talented seamstress, pianist, and organist, but her greatest enjoyment was traveling the world. She and Garnett traveled to all 50 states. She also visited Europe, Mexico, Canada, South America and Egypt. She was a member of North Fork Baptist Church. She served as choir director, pianist, and organist for many years.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Collins officiating. Interment followed in Sunset Cemetery.
