James Patrick Elliott, 67, of Blacksburg, died Friday, July 19, 2024, at VCU Medical Center. He was born in Radford on Aug. 9, 1956.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Guy Elliott, and stepfather, Shirley Echols. Pat retired from Virginia Tech after 45 years in the Reprographics Center. He loved golfing, bowling, and animals.
He is survived by his wife, Jeri G. Elliott; mother, Ruth Echols; sons, Matthew Blankenship (Meredith) and Luke Elliott (Solei); sisters, Kaye Endahl (John) and Rosanna Gearheart (Robert); stepbrothers, Dale Echols (Teresa) and Dennis Echols (Patricia); special uncle and aunt, Brownie and Jeannie Miller; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 26, 2024 at 11 a.m. at New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Brian Katz and Pastor Todd Hallinan officiating. Interment will follow in the New Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
