Onward NRV, formerly known as the New River Valley Economic Development Alliance, recognized Basil Edwards, Director of Operations for the City of Radford, during the Annual Onward NRV Dinner held on Sept. 20. Edwards was recognized for his years of commitment and leadership contributed to the economic growth and development of the New River Valley.
“We are very appreciative of Basil’s many years of hard work and service,” said Charlie Jewell, Executive Director, Onward NRV. “His participation on both the Onward NRV Board of Directors and Executive Committee provided our organization and region with valuable input. We are proud of the work he has accomplished and glad we were able to offer a small token of our appreciation.”
“Edwards began serving as Economic Development Director for the City of Radford in March of 1999. In February of 2018, he was named Director of Operations. Edwards was both a Board of Directors member and Executive Committee member for Onward NRV for over 19 years.
“The City of Radford is grateful for the commitment and service Basil has provided in accomplishing both local and regional economic development needs, said David Ridpath, Radford City Manager. “We are thankful for his continued dedication to our community.”
