Dr. Marshall Kent Kiser, 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg.
Dr. Kiser was born Sept. 20, 1957, in Roanoke, the son of Dr. H.E. Kiser, Jr., and Virginia Anne Troxler Kiser. Dr. Kiser grew up in Bluefield, W.Va., and graduated from Bluefield High School in 1975. He attended Hampden-Sydney College, and upon graduation, he attended West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He served as a dentist in the United States Air Force before returning to Columbia University College of Dental Medicine to receive a degree in Orthodontics.
Dr. Kiser opened an orthodontic practice in Radford and continued his father’s orthodontic practice in Bluefield. He was a member of the Virginia Association of Orthodontics, the Southern Association of Orthodontics, and the American Association of Orthodontics.
He is survived by his two sons, William Gillespie Kiser of Port Hope, Ontario, Canada, and Marshall Bowen Kiser (Callie) of Radford; his mother, Mrs. Virginia Anne Troxler Kiser of Martinsville; and his sister, Kimberly Kiser Snyder (Edward) of Martinsville.
Additional survivors include his nephews, Edward Ghent Snyder (Jennifer) of Mechanicsville, Va., and Marshall Hampton Snyder (Chelsae Hughes) of Chicago; and his niece, Katherine Ryan Snyder of Martinsville. He was preceded in death by his son, Harrison Trent Kiser, and his father, Dr. H.E. Kiser, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. on today, Dec. 11, 2021, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brian Cockram officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford.
