Michael Fritz Dowdy, 48, of Blacksburg passed away Aug. 30, 2018. He was born November 1, 1969. He will always be remembered for his love of fishing and hunting. Michael is survived by his father Bert Dowdy and Jessie, his mother Peggy Hamlin and Jay.
Left to treasure his memory are his son Eli Dowdy, his daughters Trista Thompson and Chris, who have taken care of Michael during his last few years of illness, Heaven Elms, Nevada Caldwell and Katie Smith.
Michael also leaves behind his brother Clayton Dowdy and Diana, sisters Christine Viars and Anita Thomas, grandchildren Sky Lynn, Brayleigh, Ava and special granddaughter Adalynn, Makenzie and Ryleigh, and special grandson Hayden, his grandmother Audrey Dowdy and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who cared about him.
Friends and family visited Sept. 4 , and memorial service followed at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.
