Judy R. Dowdy, 76, of Blacksburg passed away on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017. She retired from the Town of Blacksburg in 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Sterling and Eva Roark; sister, Jo Leach; brother, Jimmy Roark; niece, Lisa Baldwin; and several loving uncles and aunts. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Clarence R. (Duke) Dowdy, Jr.; her son, Clarence (Lance) R. Dowdy, III and daughter-in-law, Alison; three grandchildren, Clay, Paul and Charlotte; sister, Janet Hatfield of Radford; brother, Jene Roark; several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Nancy Sutphin and Nellie Mitchem.
Service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home with the Pastor Gary McCoy officiating. Visitation will be held at 10. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg.
