Richard “Dick” Elmer Dore, 86, passed away on Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at his home in Fairlawn with his wife by his side. Born on Feb. 11, 1931, he was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Blacksburg and a U. S. Air Force veteran. He was retired from Gardiner Hospital in Gardiner, Maine and was also the owner of Dore Way Enterprise. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mary Dore; and his daughter, Barbara Rowe.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Elizabeth “Betty” D. Dore of Fairlawn; daughters, Catherine Ridlen of Col. and Angela Atkins of Radford; son, Robert Masciadri of Maine; 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; and his canine companions, Joey and Frankie.
Memorial services will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Blacksburg, Va., with Father John Asare officiating.
