RAAP winter community meeting Dec. 13
The Radford Arsenal is hosting a community meeting to discuss modernization and environmental programs at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. Staff members from the U.S. Army and BAE Systems will be on hand to engage with the public at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13 at the Christiansburg Public library.
Gingerbread house contest and holiday tree display in Blacksburg’s Kent Square through Dec. 20
Hand in hand with Micah’s Backpack, Blacksburg’s Nest Realty and Kent Jewelers are hosting the annual Gingerbread House Contest at Kent Square on Main Street in Blacksburg.
Attendees can vote for their favorite houses inside Kent Jewelers. All proceeds go to Micah’s Backpack.
Among the houses, the sixth annual Holiday Trees Display also shines in Kent Square. Vote for your favorite tree and be entered to win downtown gift certificates. Voting for Gingerbread Houses and Holiday Trees ends on Dec. 20 and winners will be announced on Dec. 22 at the Lyric Theatre before the free showing of “How To Train Your Dragon.”
Montgomery Museum Christmas party Dec. 13
The Montgomery Museum is hosting a free Christmas party from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13.
