Claytor Lake Regional Drug Task Force ends investigation

On August 22, members of the Claytor Lake Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence located at 6631 Ruebush Road Dublin at approximately 6 p.m. The Claytor Lake Regional Drug Task Force which is made up of the following agencies:

  • Virginia State Police
  • Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office
  • Town of Pulaski Police Department
  • Town of Dublin Police Department
  • Wythe County Sheriff’s Office

The search warrant was the result of an ongoing drug investigation. The owner of the home, John Stephen Brookman, 41, of Dublin was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of a firearm with a schedule I or II drug.

The Task Force also seized 18 firearms as a result of the search warrant. The Task Force received assistance from the V.S.P Tactical Team, Radford City Police Department, Christiansburg Police Vice, and the Montgomery County Street Crimes Unit. Brookman was taken to the New River Valley Regional Jail where he was being held without bond.
