George Foster Clappes, Jr., 56, passed away at his home in Dublin on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020.

He was a 20-year associate of Wal-Mart store 2762 in Fairlawn. George was loved by everyone who took the time to know him. He had a smile and a smart remark ready at all times.

George was a die-hard Jimmie Johnson fan and an Ohio State fan. He loved M&M’s, Reese Cups and pepperoni. His favorite critters were his faithful dog Scrappy, and Mickey Mouse, followed closely by frogs and turtles. He was a truly unique person who will never be forgotten by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Ivy Clappes.

Survivors include his wife, best friend and partner in crime, Ulla (Anne)  Davis of Dublin; his father, George Foster Clappes, Sr. of Princeton, W.Va.; stepsons Jerry Day, Jr., of Fostoria, Ohio, and David Day of Steubenville, Ohio; stepdaughters Angela (Neil) Beaverson of Cambridge, Ohio, and Danielle (Anthony) Isom of Fairlawn; grandsons Nicholas Schrader and Kaylan Campanizzi; granddaughters Breanna Beaverson, Jocelyn Beaverson, Madison Bean, Annaliese Day and Makenzee Day; sisters Tammi “Squirt” Morris and her husband, Stephen, and Pam McNeer, all of Pearisburg; nieces Tiffany Sexton of Fredericksburg and Brooke McNeer of Pearisburg; nephews Skyler Morris and Hunter McNeer, both of Pearisburg; and many friends.

Services will be private.

The Clappes family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford. www.mullinsfuneralhome.com.
