A committee from Christiansburg High School has released the list of 24 players and coaches who were the first to be inducted into the school’s sports hall of fame.

The athletes inducted were Joe Board, Jeff Custer, Gloria Dillard, Clifford Dillard, Brian Eigel, Darren Graham, Rebecca McNeil Hubble, Mark Franklin, Randy Lawrence, Jeff Stanley, Billy Parker, Tommy Barber and B.J. Willard.

The coaches inducted were Dean Underwood, Buddy Earp, Randy Bailey, Tim Cromer, Norma Cox, Wally Flinchum, Kevin Dresser, Shane Guynn and Debbie Sherman-Lee. Contributors include Mutt Byrd and Steve Wright.

In late 2019, a committee was established to initiate conversation regarding creating an inaugural class for the CHS Sports Hall of Fame.

The members are all CHS graduates. Through many meetings and a pandemic, the committee, which included AD Tim Cromer, selected 24 candidates for induction, voted on and contacted each candidate, and advised them of their selection for the school’s hall of fame..

A public induction ceremony will be held in the school’s auditorium on Sunday, April 16 at 2 p.m.
