Senior Zander Grimes of Christiansburg High School has been named to this year’s All-Region 4D lacrosse team.
Teammate Will Nicklas joined three players from Blacksburg on the second-team, which included Lake Gohike, Eric Metrey and Andrew Guynn.
The Blacksburg girls’ lacrosse team finished 12-5 this season and picked up a win in the regional playoffs for the first time in the history of the school. For the effort, Blacksburg’s coach Kati Williams was named the 2024 Region D coach of the year.
Blacksburg’s Hayli Williams was named to the first team attack, while Charis Krouscas was a first-team midfielder. Their Blacksburg teammates Karly Gresham and Camryn McElroy were named on the first-team defense.
Second-teamers from Blacksburg included: Lindsey Apisa, Emeline Swift, Azalee Chase and Madison Stewart.
