Malinda Hines finished second in the rodeo’s 4-6 age group, but she claimed the big fish award, hooking a 1.88-pounder.
The Christiansburg Recreation Department held its fifth annual Tony Huddleston Trout Rodeo Saturday at the Montgomery County Izaak Walton League’s fishing ponds on top of Christiansburg Mountain towards Shawsville on Denhill Road.
Jacob Redd took first place in the age 4-6 division with four fish weighing in at 3.27 pounds.
Malinda Hines placed second in the 4-6 age group and won the big fish award at 1.88 pounds.
Lexi Wade took top honors in the age 7-9 division. Rylan Hubble was second in the age 7-9 division with three fish weighing 2.68 pounds, and Linda Dickerson placed third in the age 7-9 division.
The top fisherman in the age 10-12 division was Levi Gallimore with a total of 3.312 pounds. Kadyn Woods finished second in the age 10-12 division. Reece Hubble was third in the age 10-12 division and also won the award for the smallest fish of the day.
The top angler in the age 13-15 division was Callie Gallimore while Lee Woods took second place in the division, and Alec Williams finished third.
The Izaak Walton League is one of America’s oldest and most successful conservation organizations and is the only organization training, equipping, and coordinating volunteer water quality monitors on a national scale.
