CHRISTIANSBURG – The Community Health Center of the New River Valley (CHCNRV) is adding Saturday hours for walk-in medical appointments under the name CHCNRV PromptCare.

Starting Aug. 3, the Christiansburg Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. every Saturday to provide fast and affordable same-day medical services to the community. The expanded hours enhance accessibility and convenience for patients who may find it challenging to visit during the week and offer options for people with illnesses.

“Our mission is to provide high-quality, affordable medical, dental, behavioral, and preventive health care services to individuals of all ages, regardless of their ability to pay,” said Michelle Brauns, Chief Executive Officer of CHCNRV. “CHCNRV PromptCare underscores the center’s commitment to this mission and its dedication to the well-being of people in the New River Valley.”

“We think this service will be very valuable for families,” said Rebecca King-Mallory, MD, CMO – Chief Medical Officer. “Many of us are time stressed, but through CHCNRV PromptCare, it is easier to see a trusted local provider. If the expanded hours are positively received, we hope to expand it to other facilities and services in the near future.
