The Montgomery County Education Association will host its fourth annual Celebration of Education today, Oct. 5, at Kipps Elementary School from 11:00-1:00. Come listen to Virginia’s Secretary of Education Atif Qarni and Delegate Chris Hurst speak on the positives of public education.
There will also be musical performances by Kipps 3:00 O’clock Band and CHS’s classic rock band Barren Minds. There will also be community informational tents from organizations who support local schools and their students. Two food trucks will be on the scene to serve up lunch.
The theme of this year’s event is the celebration of the high quality of education offered in Montgomery County. The MCEA advocates for its members, for quality teaching, for increasing student achievement through common sense approaches and for making schools safe and positive places to learn.
