Bruins named Region 4D all stars

Blacksburg High School dominated the Region 4D all-star soccer list announced Thursday. On the boys’ side, Edric Zheng, Kai Feng and Wyatt Eschenmann were named to the first-team, while Sean Delorenzo, Nevin O’Dowd, Addison Bass and DJ Garza were second teamers.

On the girls’ side of the list, three Bruins were named to the first team. They included: Mila Santsaver-Jones, Erin Bishop and Paige Miller. Three of their teammates were named to the second team, Ava Massjourni, Kailyn Brawley and Paige Miller. 

Honorable mentions for the Bruin girls’ included Charlotte Ellis, Ginny Crawford and Emily Bishop.

The region also released its baseball team with two Bruins making the first and second teams. Brice Abbott was a first team designated hitter and Spencer Campbell at first base.

Blacksburg was represented on the softball all-star listing with Mia Farley being named as an outfielder. Pitcher Lorelei Spradlin and utility player Evelyn Rhodes were placed on the second team.

All region lacrosse players included Blacksburg’s Lake Gohlke, Eric Metrey and Andrew Guyn being named to the second team. 

Hayli Williams was Blacksburg lone first team Region 4D lacrosse player, but four teammates were named to the second team including Malayna Cherbaka, Azalee Chase, Camryn McElory and Madi Mann.
