Please contact the Commissioner of the Revenue office at 731-3613 if you have questions.

Sign up for Community Garden plots

Sign-ups for plots in the 2017 Radford Community Garden will begin March 13 in the Radford City Administration Building, located at 10 Robertson St. There are 40 available plots: 30 regular-sized plots which cost $30, and 10 half-size plots, which cost $10. Previous gardeners will have priority for a plot.

Virginia’s burning law in effect until April 30

To help reduce the number of wildfires this time of year, the Commonwealth’s 4 p.m. Burning Law will be in effect until April 30. The law prohibits open burning between the hours of midnight and 4 p.m. each day. Burning is permitted between the hours of 4 p.m. and midnight, but officials at the Virginia Department of Forestry caution people that, even though burning is allowed from 4 p.m. to midnight, they not burn if the weather conditions are such that a fire will likely escape. Such conditions include low humidity, warm temperatures and winds over 10 miles per hour.
