NRV Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day Saturday

Residents served by the New River Resource Authority are invited to participate in the region’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection event from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. April 8 at the Radford University Dedmon Center Parking Lot Z (Riverside). Questions regarding the types of materials accepted should be directed to your locality. In Radford, call 731-3631; in Pulaski, call 674-8720; in Giles, call 921-2499; in Dublin, call 674-4798; in Blacksburg call 961-1806; in Christiansburg, call 382-6128.

No commercial waste or commercial vehicles will be accepted as household hazardous waste. Instead, they will be accepted for document shredding and electronic waste. The New River Resource Authority will be accepting plastic bags and a Goodwill container will be on-site.

Freedom Fellowship Easter Egg Hunt Saturday

The Freedom Fellowship will be hosting an Easter Eggstavaganza from 3-4:30 p.m. April 8. There will be the Easter story, puppets, crafts, refreshments and an egg hunt with prizes. The address is 1730 West St. in Radford.

Public hearing on Valley Bible Church April 17

As required by Virginia Code 15.2-2204, Radford Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comments concerning a request from Valley Bible Church of Radford for a special use permit to operate a church at 1308-1310 2nd Street, Tax Map #’s 13-(5)-Sec10-13 thru 21.

The public hearing will occur April 17 beginning at 5:30 p.m., at 10 Robertson St. Citizens will be provided an opportunity to voice their opinions. For disabled individuals who may require special auxiliary aids or services, reasonable accommodations will be make available by the City of Radford upon request five business days before the public hearing.
