Minnie Sue Price Bowles, age 91, of Salem, passed away, Monday, April 27, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Blacksburg on Aug. 14, 1934, to the late Richard Lee Price and Bertha Snider Price. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, James R. Bowles; sister, Eunice King; and brothers, Kent Price, Dave Price, and Ray Price.
She is survived by seven of her children Susan Mountcastle (Don), Shree Lowe (Raymond), Sandra Layman (Scott), Donna Graham (Scott), Carlene Maiden (Bobby), Gary Price (Cathy Mauk), Troy Price (Tracy); eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nephew, Kenny “Butch” Price; and niece, Lisa Reynolds.
Minnie enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR racing and spending time with her family.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 2, 2026 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Neal Turner Officiating. Interment followed in the Zack Price James R. Long Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service.
