Campbell Pierce of Blacksburg won for the second consecutive week in the 13-14 age group as the Blue Ridge Junior Golf Tour continued.

Holston Hills Golf Club in Marion hosted the tour on Wednesday, July 15, the first trip to the popular 18-hole tract in the tour’s 22-year history. Eighty-four players participated in five age groups.

Pierce fired a 3-over-par 75 for the win. That was just enough to hold off a challenge from Major Ewing of Blacksburg, who finished one shot back with a 76. Jack Skinner of Blacksburg finished fifth with an 80.

Daniel Goode of Wytheville had the round of the day, firing an impressive 5-under-par 67 to win the 17-18 age group, which featured 29 players. Christianburg’s Seth Walker shot a 79 to finish in sixth place.

Tyler Sayers of Marion shot an even par 72 to win the 15-16 age group by a single stroke over Jake Albert of Blacksburg. Albert continued his fine play on the tour, carding two birdies along the way to his 73. Samantha Skinner of Blacksburg and Jack Davis of Radford tied for fourth with 78’s.

Grant McCall of Richlands shot a one-over-par 37 to win the 10-12 age group. Hudson Hurt of Radford finished with a 43, good enough for a second-place tie.

Campbell Sayers of Marion fired a 39 to win the 9-and-under age group. Liam Smith of Elliston shot a 41 to finish second. Marco Beato and J.J. Robertson, both of Blacksburg, posted scores of 47 to tie for third.

The Blue Ridge Junior Golf Tour continues Monday and Tuesday July 20-21, with the season-ending championship to be played at the Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, W.Va.
