On the Blue Ridge Junior Golf Tour, Blacksburg’s Jake Albert won his 15-16 age group for the third straight week Wednesday by shooting a 76 on the Greenbrier course. Major Ewing of Blacksburg continued his hot streak with an 84 to win the 13-14 age group for the second straight week.

Jack Davis, also of Blacksburg, shot an 81 and finished second in the 15-16 age group. Jack Skinner of Blacksburg finished second in the 13-14 age group with an 86.

13-year-old Grayden Laird of Galax added some excitement to the day by recording a hole in one on the par-3 fourth hole. He used an eight iron on the 146-yard hole.

Other winners for the day were Rosedale’s Peyton Wilson in the 17-18 age group despite hitting a shot in the rough on the par-5 14th hole and taking a double bogey; David Goode of Wytheville in the 10-12 age group; and Campbell Sayers of Marion in the 9 and under age group.

The tour continues Monday, June 29, at the Wytheville Golf Club in Wytheville.
