The Big South Conference finalized its conference schedule on Tuesday afternoon, which completes the Radford University women’s basketball team 2018-19 slate.

The Big South campaign features 18 games; nine inside the Dedmon Center and nine on the road. Conference play opens on Saturday, Jan. 5 as the 2016-17 regular season champs faceoff against the 2017 Big South Tournament champs, UNC Asheville. The Highlanders will stay at home and battle High Point on Tuesday, Jan. 8, before beginning the conference road schedule.

Just two days later on Thursday, Jan. 10 Radford will stay in the Commonwealth, but travel to Hampton to take on Big South newcomer Hampton. The Pirates went 18-14 last season with a MEAC Tournament Championship game appearance. The Highlanders make a quick stop back home to face Winthrop (Jan. 12), before back-to-back road games with Charleston Southern (Jan. 15) and Longwood (Jan. 19).

Radford will close out the month of January with a home game against Presbyterian on Tuesday, Jan. 22 and a road game against Campbell on the final Saturday of the month, Jan. 26.

February will see seven games, with only three being played inside the Dedmon Center. The first game in February features another first-year Big South member, USC Upstate, on Saturday, Feb. 2. The Highlanders will travel to Spartanburg for the first meeting of 2018-19 between the two programs. Radford will return to the New River Valley for the lone meeting between Gardner-Webb and Radford. That game will be played on Tuesday, Feb. 5.

The second half of the conference schedule features a game with High Point in the Millis Center on Saturday, Feb. 9 and a return trip home against in-state rival Longwood on Feb. 16. Two of the final three games in February are on the road as the Highlanders travel to Winthrop on Feb. 19 and UNC Asheville Feb. 26, with Campbell visiting the Dedmon Center sandwiched in between the two on Feb. 23.

The final three games of the regular season will be in March with two of them being played on Radford’s campus. The two Big South newcomers make the return trip to Radford as USC Upstate visits on Saturday, March 2 and Hampton journeys to southwest Virginia on Tuesday, March 5. The final game of the regular season sees the Highlanders travel to Clinton, S.C., for a date with Presbyterian on Saturday, March 9.

The Big South Conference Tournament begins on Tuesday, March 12, just three short days after the conclusion of the regular season. The Big South quarterfinals and semifinals will be played on March 14-15, before the championship game on March 17.

Season tickets are available now on RadfordTickets.com or by calling the Radford Athletics Ticket Office during business hours at 831-7889. The season ticket renewal deadline is Sunday, September 16 and season ticket holders who would like to ensure having the same seat locations as in 2017-18 should renew their tickets before the deadline.
