Gerlene Nelson Baker, 89, of Radford, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, peacefully slipped from this world May 15, 2017.

She was predeceased by her parents Harrison Shelburne Nelson and Pearlie Mae Sutphin; her husbands, Donald Ezra Semones and John Cecil Baker; her sons, Donald Gregory Semones and Timothy Charles Semones; her granddaughter, Emily Mae Semones; and her step-grandson, John Douglas Tate.

She is survived by her son, Steven Randall Semones (Randy); her daughters-in-law, Pam Semones, Judy Semones, and Tammy Semones; her step-children, Sheila Hamm, Sherry Tate and Beau Baker; her grandchildren, Courtney Elizabeth Semones (fiancé Chris), Amberly Nichole Halvorsen (Justin), Chloe Ann Semones, Gregory Harrison Semones and Colton Andrew Semones; her great granddaughters, Reilly Mae Semones and Lucy Marie Halverson; and her best friend and the daughter she never had Elizabeth Kanipe and her husband Doug, and their sons Alex and Max.

She retired from Inland Motors, Winding Department after 28 years. She loved her flowers and enjoyed her coffee, cigarettes and reading the newspaper. She always said that the most important part of life was making memories which she strived to do with all her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you to make a donation to Americans Helping Americans-Appalachia charity (www.helpingamericans.org) or a local charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend our gratitude for the care and support provided by Radford Health and Rehab, Intrepid Hospice, and English Meadows.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 9:30 – 11 a.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bobby Sutphin and Rev. Dennis Martin officiating.

Interment was at West View Cemetery in Radford.

The Baker family is being cared for by Mullins Funeral Home of Radford.
