The Radford Clothing Bank’s project August Kids took place Aug. 3. It served 223 qualifying students in Radford City Schools with vouchers to Radford Walmart to purchase new school clothes.
“A big thank you to all the donors, volunteers, and Walmart personnel who helped with this project,” said Martha Kincaid, a volunteer who coordinates the August Kids program. “Total vouchers equaled over $18,000. This project could not be done without the local support of the Radford community.”
The next project sponsored by the Radford Clothing Bank will be “Coats for Kids,” which will serve children throughout the entire New River Valley with coats, hoodies, lightweight jackets, hats and gloves.
