The Radford Clothing Bank is once again gearing up for its annual August Kids Program.
The program provides a voucher for each income qualifying student in grades K – 12 attending Radford City Schools to be redeemed at the local Fairlawn Walmart to purchase new school clothing and tennis shoes for each school aged child (K-12) in a family. In 2025, 292 students received vouchers.
This year’s screening for eligibility will be Monday, Aug. 3 (10 a.m.- noon and 4- 6 p.m. at Central Church, 803 Wadsworth St., Radford. The Radford Community and the 14 churches that sponsor the Radford Clothing Bank provide funding and volunteers. Anyone wanting more information can call the Radford Clothing Bank at 540-633-5050. Donations to this project can be mailed to RCB, P.O. Box 994, Radford, VA 24143. The voucher amount for the 2026 school year is $85.
